Smithsonian Journeys offers private jet tours around the world, aboard a Boeing 757.

Globetrotters with strong wallets and plenty of free time take note: Smithsonian Journeys, the Smithsonian Institution's travel program has added a new departure of its "Around the World by Private Jet" tour.

This 22-day private jet adventure (slated for November 1-22, 2011, in addition to an earlier announced October 28-November 22 trip) departs from Orlando, Florida and will include stops ranging from Machu Picchu and Easter Island to the Great Barrier Reef and the Taj Mahal, as well as the Serengeti and Morocco. Five continents, nine countries and 14 World Heritage Sites are on the itinerary.

Participants will fly aboard a new (private) Boeing 757, configured to accommodate 78 seats rather than the 200+ that's usual for this type of aircraft. Accommodations include upscale gems like the Hotel Monasterio in Cusco and the Miraflores Park Hotel in Lima.

The seats on the 757 private jet used by Smithsonian Journeys certainly looks better than coach.

Easter Island, Chile is among the stops on the Smithsonian Journeys private jet tour.
The price of this extravagant getaway starts at $62,950. If that's too rich for your blood, Smithsonian Journeys offers shorter escorted tours throughout Latin America and beyond for far less money.
